A Humbling Request
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
One night. A gloomy estate. One lone professional.
This game was made in 9 days for the Godot Wild Jam #66. It was a grueling process, but the team managed to pull it off.
The game idea was content heavy, but had a somewhat simple framework, which had its' advantages. The main advantage was that the size of the game was perfect for the coding team to build in the given timeframe, but on the other side, even the minimum viable product was pretty content heavy for the art, writing and sound teams.
The visuals especially posed a big challenge, as we were somewhat understaffed for a good part, and not everyone was super experienced as game artists. The animations posed big problem, as only one of us had any animation knowledge, but through effort and quick learning, we managed to get most of our assets ready for deadline.
As is usual with these things, the second weekend, two days before deadline, was challenging. Not all the main animations were ready, some assets were not ready yet, and as such the coding team had not been able to implement yet, but when the deadline came, somehow we made it.
Now that it's all over, we hope you enjoy it, and would love to hear what you thought!
